Milestone

I haven’t been to the club for about 3 months now. One of the reasons was because of the fasting month. I could get so thirsty just after one detail. But the main reason is that I don’t have enough money to shoot.

But time is running out fast. I must prove myself in the coming National Shooting Championship on 13 Oct.2011. But first I must beat other contestant in the club’s monthly shoot which is on the first week of Sunday every month. Thus my targets and possible milestones are as follows:

2 Oct.2011         Club’s monthly shoot
v
v
13 Oct.2011       National Shooting Championship
v
v
21 Nov.2011       1st Malaysian Open Shotgun Championship (MQS)
v
v
11 Jan.2012        12th Asian Championship (Last quota place)
v

27 July 2011       Olympic Games

Preconceived idea

As a newcomer to this Trap shooting business, I developed some preconceive ideas about shooting. One, use only one barrel during shooting to ‘get’ the feel for accuracy. This idea comes to mind in order to reduce shooting expenditure. Tried and tested, and only managed to get a maximum of 8 hits out of 25. Hmmm... another shooter advises me to use both barrels. Ok, I’ll try his idea.

Two, you must see the clay perfectly aligned with your barrel before shooting. I could see the clay but my body reaction was too slow to get the alignment. Another fellow shooter advises me to just assume the speed of the clay. Once you see the clay is going left, just shoot on the left without waiting for the alignment.

Are these good advices?
